Academics

The CBSE curriculum, arranged in the four NEP 2020 stages.

The 5+3+3+4 structure

The National Education Policy 2020 replaced the older 10+2 pattern with four stages that follow how children actually develop. Our timetable, teaching methods and assessment are organised the same way.

Foundational Stage — Nursery to Class II (ages 3 to 8)

Five years of play-based and activity-based learning. The focus is Foundational Literacy and Numeracy in line with the NIPUN Bharat Mission: recognising letters and sounds, number sense, fine motor skills, and the confidence to speak in class. There are no written examinations at this stage; progress is recorded through a portfolio of each child's own work.

Preparatory Stage — Classes III to V (ages 8 to 11)

Play, discovery and activity continue, with structured lessons in language, mathematics, art, science and social studies introduced gradually. Daily reading and a weekly library period are on the timetable. Assessment is largely formative and competency-based.

Middle Stage — Classes VI to VIII (ages 11 to 14)

Subject teachers take over, and abstract concepts are introduced across the sciences, mathematics, humanities, arts and social sciences. This stage brings in coding and computational thinking, vocational exposure with hands-on skill sessions, and bagless days in line with NEP guidance.

Secondary Stage — Classes IX to XII (ages 14 to 18)

Four years of multidisciplinary study with greater subject depth and increasing choice. Classes IX and X follow the CBSE Secondary curriculum; Classes XI and XII offer streams in Science, Commerce and Humanities, with subject combinations selected in consultation with parents and the school counsellor.

Assessment

Assessment follows CBSE guidance and the competency-based direction set by NEP 2020 and PARAKH. Question papers test understanding and application rather than recall. Reporting uses the Holistic Progress Card, which records scholastic achievement alongside co-scholastic growth, health and wellbeing, and the child's own self-assessment.

Scholastic subjects

  • Languages: English, Hindi and Sanskrit (as a third language from Class VI)
  • Mathematics and Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology from Class IX)
